CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations – Armed Guard WA

We are not currently delivering this course in WA.

If you are new to the industry you need to start with CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations which is currently available for enrolments.

This course is specifically for licensed Security Officers in WA who are looking to obtain a ‘Firearm Endorsement’ (on a Security Officer’s Licence for Armed Cash in Transit (CIT) Industry Duties).

On completion of this course you will be awarded a CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations with specialised units for a ‘Firearms Endorsement’.

What do I need before I start?

For entry to this qualification you must hold a current Security Providers Licence.

You will also require basic English language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills.

Before commencing this course, you may be required to undertake an Online LLN ASSESSMENT. You can check your LLN level right now.

This course is not open to international students (student visa 500).

To complete this course you must demonstrate competency in a total of 14 units. These units have been selected to give you the ‘Firearms Endorsement’ and cannot be changed.

  • CPPSEC3118 Inspect and test cash-in-transit security equipment
  • CPPSEC3119 Implement cash-in-transit security procedures
  • CPPSEC3120 Load and unload cash-in-transit in secured and unsecured environments
  • CPPSEC3121 Control persons using empty hand techniques
  • CPPSEC3114 Control security risk situations using firearms
  • CPPSEC3116 Carry, operate and maintain semi-automatic pistols for security purposes

This course is delivered over 2 weeks – Monday – Saturday, 8am – 6pm.

Assessment Re-Submission Fees

Should you be deemed not competent after 2 attempts at a unit of competency, an assessment re-submission fee of $50 will apply per assessment.

Re-Enrolment

Should you wish to cancel your course or your enrolment is cancelled by us due to no progress and you then wish to re-enrol, a re-enrolment fee of 25% of the standard course fee will apply if requested within 3 months of initial cancellation. If re-enrolment is requested within 4 – 12 months of initial cancellation, 50% of the standard course fee will apply.

In order to qualify for a Security Licence (Guard) in Queensland, all applicants applying for this type of licence, must provide with their new licence application, a statement of attainment (issued in the last 12 months) from an RTO showing they have completed the appropriate units of the CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations.

Applications made for Security Guard Firearms Licences are handled by the Weapons Licencing Branch of the Queensland Police. This service incurs a fee to process, approve and issue licences which is not included in the cost of the course.
